Your Own VPS with a Dedicated IP: When Shared VPN Isn't Enough Anymore
On a regular ("shared") plan, the same server and the same IP address are used simultaneously by many clients. For most tasks that's not a problem — but there are situations where it starts to get in the way.
How a dedicated IP differs from a shared one
A shared IP is an address that traffic from many users passes through at the same time. A dedicated IP is reserved just for you: no one else connects through it.
When this actually matters
- Services with IP-based checks — some platforms restrict or flag logins if too many different accounts sign in from the same IP at once. On a shared IP this sometimes happens through no fault of your own, because of what other users on the same location are doing.
- A stable address reputation — on a shared IP, the address's reputation is shaped by everyone who uses it. On a dedicated one, it's shaped only by you.
- A permanent "clean" address — if you always need to connect from the same IP (for example, to access services tied to a specific address), a dedicated IP solves this directly.
An individual plan isn't a "faster" version of the shared VPN — it's a different architecture: a whole separate VPS server at your disposal, not a shared network node.
