By default, connections to domains on our current malware and phishing list are blocked on the server. The list updates automatically and needs no action from you. If the filter gets in the way — for example, it blocks a site you need — you can request to disable it from your account; requests are handled manually, usually within 1–3 hours and no more than 24 hours.
Not always — and that's not something specific to us, it's a general limitation for any VPN service. During whitelist mode (a temporary mobile internet shutdown that leaves only an approved list of services reachable), the operator cuts routes to foreign addresses entirely rather than inspecting traffic content — obfuscation simply doesn't help here, ours or anyone else's. In that situation, switch to home Wi-Fi or a wired connection — that restriction usually doesn't apply there. More detail in our blog.
AES-256 is a symmetric encryption algorithm with a 256-bit key, adopted as the standard by governments, banks, and militaries worldwide (the US uses it to encrypt data even at the TOP SECRET level). Brute-forcing every possible key with today's computing power is physically impossible within any reasonable timeframe — the number of combinations (2^256) exceeds the number of atoms in the observable universe by many orders of magnitude.
